This International Women’s Day, we played our part in empowering women for job success by joining forces with our charity partners – Smart Works.

Smart Works are a UK charity that exists to give women the confidence they need to reach their full potential, secure employment and change the trajectory of their lives. They empower each woman by giving her the clothes, coaching and confidence she needs to succeed.

We took part in their ‘Cycle for Smart Works’ fundraiser where every pedal and every pound helped to make a difference to their work and the lives of the women they serve. It was brilliant to come together and fundraise as a team for a charity which is so closely aligned with our values at Joss Search.

From Friday 23rd February through to Friday 8th March, we cycled 306 miles between us – taking part in spin classes at the gym and at home, cycling to work and enjoying weekend bike rides around London.

Some of our Jossie team attended a fitness class kindly gifted to us by Manor gym in Victoria and nearly everyone took it in turns to hop on the bike in the office and get some miles on the clock between calls!

On our participation in ‘Cycle for Smart Works’, Helen Nelson, Head of Corporate Partnerships said:

“As we celebrate one incredible year of partnership with Joss Search, coinciding with International Women’s Day 2024, we are delighted the team are marking the occasion by taking part in the biggest challenge of the Smart Works calendar – Cycle for Smart Works.

We are so grateful to the team’s efforts cycling the distance from London to Frankfurt whilst raising vital funds for Smart Works Charity. All funds raised will support Smart Works to give more unemployed women the clothing and confidence they need to reach their full potential, secure employment and transform their lives. Keep pedalling!”

Ben Heathorn, Executive Chairman of Joss Search said:

“We’re thrilled to be able to support Smart Works with their ‘Cycle for Smart Works’ fundraiser this year, in support of International Women’s Day. Since beginning our partnership in May last year, we’ve continuously seen the incredible difference Smart Works makes to the lives of the many women they help.

As a business, taking part in the cycle has been the perfect way to bring our team together, stay active and raise money for our charity partners. We’re proud to be able to support Smart Works on their mission to help empower women for job success – a mission very closely aligned with our own mission here at Joss Search.”
