Last weekend we took the entire Joss Search team to Barcelona for our annual #JossieJolly.

Our Jossie Jolly is our way of celebrating and rewarding the team for their hard work and commitment in the last year. It’s an important part of our culture and something the team really looks forward to.

Where we go is linked to a commercial target, but the important part is that it’s for the whole team – not just the top billers. Building a positive work culture is key to keeping employees motivated, productive and engaged, and by rewarding the whole team we’re recognising everyone’s valuable contributions to the business.

The Jossie trip is our annual team weekend off-site and is always one of the highlights of the year. This year we had team members join from the UK, US and Estonia for the first time, making it a truly global meet-up. As we’ve grown, having the Jossie trip has become even more valuable so individuals can build relationships – especially with those who don’t work together day to day.

One of our core values as a business is team work, which includes sharing and celebrating success as a team. That’s why the trip is for the entire company, not just top billers!

The 2023 trip was Talent Manager Jesse’s first summer Jossie Jolly. He explains that: “the trip consists of a couple of dinners, some team bonding and the bulk of the time is spent how you want to spend it. In the past, trips I’ve been on with other companies come with most of my time being planned and buckets of social pressure. At Joss Search they want you to have a great time with the team but also value authenticity and ultimately want you to be rewarded for the year that the firm has had.

It’s like a hug followed by a big pat on the back, and reinforces the culture we have at Joss Search. It recognises you as an individual whilst cultivating an environment that builds on team relationships and performance.”

Rose Karlin joined Joss Search in our New York office in April, so the trip was perfectly timed for her to meet our London team: “I had a wonderful time on our company trip to Barcelona! As a new member of the team, it was so special to meet everyone from our London office. I got to connect with individuals I haven’t met yet and those I’ve only met through Zoom. Everyone was so welcoming and I am so excited to be part of Joss Search.”

Work can be demanding, so it’s important to take time to recharge and refocus. In Barcelona, we were able to relax and enjoy each other’s company, and connect with colleagues on a personal level. Bring on the next one!
